Houston-based real estate firm Hines plans to pour the concrete mat foundation for its latest downtown Houston tower this weekend.
The mat pour for Texas Tower, on the former Houston Chronicle site, is scheduled to begin March 9 at 3 p.m. and take between 19 to 21 hours, wrapping up around 11 a.m. March 10.
It seem like there's a ton of above ground parking in this project, is that safe to assume? Other than that, the tower looks alright. Nice to have some retail uses.

Yes majority of the parking levels are above ground.

It's my understanding the water table is very high in Houston, hence it would be very difficult to have too many sub-levels.
