Keystone, PA - A Google Sketchup City

This is a city I've tried over and over again to create. This time, I have finally succeeded. Teaser shot:

I love that old (I believe there is a Wells Fargo sign on the ground floor) building in the front! It looks very real.

All righty then

Keystone was founded in 1847 as a small industrial town on Lake Erie. Over the years in has grown into a midsize business center with a happy, robust population.

Fast Facts:

-Forbes rated Keystone #3 in the best places to do business (2004)
-Keystone City population is 564,144 (2006)
-Keystone's MSA population is 958,091 (2006)
-The Keystone Prompter was rated the best mid-size city newspaper by the New York Times
-Lakeland Plaza was rated the best overall new Mall in the Eastern United States

Your city is perfect! Everthing seems to fit together so nicely, especially the history and location. When I read this

Thanks everyone for the honest and helpful feedback. I will most certainly listen to the constructive criticism and will use it to further develop my city.

Hahaha, never even noticed that. Just thought Pennsylania > Penn. But sure, if that's all right with you

Thanks austin55, I appreciate the feedback. I actually got most of the textures from 3D warehouse (yes, stealing from other building textures), but I've found it to be by far the best method of getting textures. I just cannot take credit for the textures themselves.

I actually really like San Felix. You've done a great job, and if that's your first city, I am very impressed! My first city was no where near as good as yours.

Thank you, Peter! Funny you should say that...I've never been anywhere near there, and I've done very little research. I just based the style off of cities like Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester, and Pittsburgh.

Again, thanks everyone!

It's definitely got that Pennsylvania feel. The older-style buildings are pretty constant across the state, from Erie to Pittsburgh to Allentown to Reading to Philadelphia. Specifically, it reminds me of a bigger version of the city of Erie, PA. I love it!

I've never been near there either but I understand the style of that area and you nailed it.
