The last picture reminds me of a European skyscraper skyline- A large area of older city of a more or less consistent low height, with a cluster of large bulky, but appealing towers in the core.

a series of new renderings for The Hub, the recently topped-off 55-storey residential tower soon to become Brooklyn's tallest, have come forward, providing an effective sneak preview of the tower's interior spaces.
Listings have debuted for the 55-story Hub (currently Brooklyn's tallest skyscraper) located at 333 Schermerhorn Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Hub soars 600 feet in the air and 75% of the more than 700 apartments have corner windows with panoramic views of the exhilarating neighborhood. Studios and one-bedrooms are currently listed with one month free for 13- or 25-month leases. Studios are priced from $2,450/month and one-bedrooms from $2,890/month. Listings advertise net effective pricing and are courtesy of Hub's leasing office.
Coined as Urburbia, the New York Post writes, “Demand for homey buildings in cozy neighborhoods —where cherry trees bloom in spring and Halloween parades amble by each fall— is huge.” While homey is not the first thing that comes to mind when describing Brooklyn’s newest rental, Hub, its Downtown Brooklyn and Boerum Hill locale offers the best of tranquil suburbia with urban convenience. The latter neighborhood is well-known for its tree-lined blocks and its sense of community, while Downtown Brooklyn, coupled with the building’s urban typology, is well adept at providing urban conveniences at the snap of a finger.
I adore shots like these. The ones that show the chaos on the street amidst the urban canopy. 333 Schermerhorn on the left. Williamsburgh Savings Bank on the right. City Point center, background. And to think with City Point, there will be an even taller tower!
Love the contrasting, cascading setback arrangement on this tower and the change of facade elements, but man, did they bungle the crown of this thing. It's like capping off a $2,000 tuxedo with a camouflage mesh trucker hat.
