The finish line is in sight. Finally. It'll be nice for the neighbourhood when it's no longer a construction site.

Indeed.

This photo from the T&T shows that the exterior cladding of the building is in the final process of being installed.

Architecturally speaking, it is a nice looking building.

Agreed, it is really nice to see a building that has good architectural design. I am excited to see the interior as well.

It's a better example of the new style of dividing facades to look like separate compartments using a palette of black, white/grey, and beige/brown.

I noticed that they are working on the exterior of the building today. I saw the worker doing something at the NW corner, 3rd floor. Likely just some finishing touches. It will be nice when this project is finished and it's no longer a construction site.

MY brother works for a window/door warehouse in the MI Park. He said today that as they supply product to hardware stores they will be open. Business is down but not as bad as they feared. Based on your post Johnny things are still getting done.

Be nice to see the numbers reverse as far as new cases being diagnosed. The sooner this virus pandemic gets under control the better.

Hyatt Place construction site is a bee hive of activity today. More work being done on the exterior, and no doubt inside as well. Business wise they probably won't be getting off to as good a start as they anticipated. Unfortunately.

That's disappointing, missed opportunity as I said, be a great spot for a rooftop restaurant (or even just a patio for guests) next to Avenir.

It's such a great idea. They could do something really nice with this space. Sitting up there overlooking the plaza when there's something going on at the Avenir Center would be appealing to their guests I'm sure. I wonder if the access to the roof is all taken up by guest rooms?

I agree, imagine a show in the plaza going on and guests watching from up there...really a missed chance to make a unique feature to the building.

Exactly. What an excellent amenity that could be promoted. If I was an out of town tourist looking at Moncton hotel sites and saw something like that, I'd really like what I saw. I don't know if it's even on their radar, but during construction would be the time to create it. The thing is access - are all those windows on the 2nd floor guests rooms?

If a second floor patio was ever to be part of the design of the hotel, this is something they would have to have planned from day one.

Yes, those windows are all second floor guest room windows. No hotel guest would want their window at the same level as a patio - you would have no privacy whatsoever!!

Now, that isn't to say that, in the initial design, they couldn't have planned Carrabba's to be a two level restaurant with patio access from the second level. They could have done this and at the same time made the hotel six storeys rather than four. This could have been quite nice. This however would be impossible to retrofit. As for now, what you see is what you get...........
