Grocery-delivery app Tiggy stops North Vancouver, Toronto operations

I have to ask, who in Downtown Vancouver or Kits needs groceries within 15 minutes, let alone can’t make it to a grocery store? Isn’t that the whole point of living downtown? Maybe the elderly but how many are ordering food on an app?

arcteryx is opening on West 4th up on the same block as whole foods across the street from Urban Outfitters. They do have a store on west 4th a few blocks to the east.

Baskin & Robbins is opening in Metropolis on the middle level just past the centre court.

Line Friends has opened in the old Disney Store space, it's about 95% BT21 merchandise aka the BTS-created stuff. There was quite a long lineup to get inside at various times, people had baskets full of stuff, and they go crazy for it.

I used Tiggy when they offered some crazy promo. Stocked up on non-perishables. The service was good but I haven't used it since.

We've had too many instances of shitty produce showing up from various delivery services, there's no point.

In the former Salad Loop at Library Square.

Yes, their website instructs people into the parkade. Current rental fleet are BMW 3/5/X3/X5 and Mercedes GLS all from $350-500 a day.

LOL Sixt is known as a budget car rental company in Europe akin to Enterprise or Budget. It's way cheaper than renting from legacy companies like Avis or National.

I've rented using Sixt in Europe. First time I've seen the moniker in Canada. Is this new to Canada?

Tiggy suspends Vancouver operations

Vancouver-based company aimed to deliver groceries within 15 minutes of orders being placed

https://biv.com/article/2022/07/tigg...ver-operations

the sidewalks will be much safer with their e-bike riding yahoos off the roads (sidewalks).

ALSO ... for a "Co-Founder" and public face of Tiggy ... you would think the CEO Eugene Bisovka would be in town right now working on the problems they face. yet according to his IG he is travelling the world >> https://www.instagram.com/bisovka/

Seems like he just posted a story from a restaurant on Davie Street.

You would have to be a complete idiot to believe this BS

Tiggy’s proprietary technology was created by developers with extensive experience in Europe’s already-established ultrafast delivery space. The result is an app, and a sophisticated back-end inventory and procurement system that’s faster than web-based platforms most Canadian grocery delivery companies are currently using.

Seems this isn't doing too well in Europe either...

And I'm totally fine with that. From what I've seen around where I live, food deliveries go to people that are perfectly able-bodied and just too damn lazy to lift a finger and actually leave their apartment/condo/house and do something physical outside their own four walls.

I was at Simons for the first time since Covid and noticed the restaurant had closed and was boarded up, when did that happen? Also noticed their shelves were very bare, supply chain issues are still a thing.

And they generally have way better selection of cars especially in Germany at a very good rate.

I am amazed Mercedes is putting GLS into rental fleet. Guess they are trying to divert some sales from going to exporters putting the cars into containers to china - which happens to be another way illicit money is coming into the country...

You know Enterprise owns National and Avis and Budget are the same company right?

They're all the same, there is no divide between 'legacy' or 'budget' companies other than perceived branding.

In addition the car models being rented out aren't exactly Top-of-the-Line; a few years back Avis rented me a BMW SUV I took up to northern Vancouver Island to say it was nothing special is being generous idiot light kept going off telling me the tires were flat this is while rockin' down the Island highway @ 120kph.

It was a better car than the Hyundai I got 6 weeks later but not that much better.
