These designs are pretty bad... I think some height would make them seem a bit better, but 5-8 stories seems to be the norm.

Thanks

Hello, all.

First time "poster", long time "lurker" of this thread. I bought in Royale Hemlocks in March 2010, so the residential and retail buildings popping up are of great interest to me, as are construction plans such as the extention Starboard Drive.

Wanted to thank all the contributors to this thread for all their information - it has been extremely valued.

The only thing I can contribute at this point is that I communicated with the Himachi Group via Twitter recently and they advised that the new Himachi Mura @ Southgate is expected to be open by Christmas.

Look forward to more information as is becomes available, and thanks again to everyone who contributes.

Thanks for the pictorial update. It still amazes me how Halifax-area developers can take a pile of rock and turn it into a habitable neighbourhood (as in the picture above). I wonder if the pile of rock will be flattened or left as it is?

I have to agree with Harlington.. that black and grey building is quite nice. A bit of a design off the beaten path as far as condos/apartments in this city go. haha, saying "90" as a metro transit route sounds odd to me, lol, does anyone know any more about this new route? Great pics guys, thank you for the update!

I like the grey and black building too, but it's in the wrong place. Can we swap it for the Shannex All Saint's Residential building?

I took this from the Metro Transit annual implementation plan

Route 90 Larry Uteck

New ALF route created to service the developing area of Larry Uteck Boulevard to the Halifax Ferry Terminal in Downtown Halifax.

This service will run every 30 minutes from 6:00am to 6:00pm, and every 60 minutes from 6:00pm to 11:00pm on weekdays and Saturdays; and every 60 minutes from 6:00am to 11:00pm
on Sundays.

This service is proposed to be implemented November 21, 2011.

17,070 additional annual service hours

Height/Density Restriction?

Is there a height or density restriction in this area? I would not mind seeing taller buildings. That grey & black building (the Luxor) looks great, but would look better down on Barrington St

^The Luxor would certainly look better than that brick monster going up on Barrington right now (I simply refuse to take photos of that project).

it was just announced that a NSLC store will be constructed on the left side of the new Hemlock Square Sobeys. With this addition the retail area will have all necessary elements to survive in Nova Scotia, save a Tim Hortons.
