The red is a weird shade of red, and it really clashes with the grey and beige

Ouch. Was someone not using accurate colour calibration on their architectural software? Were the material samples even correct? I just have difficulty imaging that when tens of millions of dollars are being committed to the project, the development team reviewed the colour scheme and said "approved".

I guess we can be grateful that it's not taller. Perhaps larger buildings to the east (@ Ottawa street) and west (Dollarama property) will eventually help block it from view.

But for a while, especially heading eastward down Main, it's going to stick out and resemble layers of puke.

Got a better look at this today in daylight and realized it appears to be stucco.

So on the bright side, I suppose it could be re-painted. On the not-so-bright side, it's stucco.

At least it can be reclad in 30 years....

Glad to see some density near Ottawa though and some new commercial space.

Much better than the video store/parking lot that was there before , however, the materials and colours make this look very dated and drab , honestly, even a colour chnage from the yellows and reds would have done wonders for the look of this place

Agreed. I appreciate them trying to give it a different look, but that colour scheme was the wrong choice. I'd rather they just do different variations of grey than this.

Based on the comments I assume you're being sarcastic. However, I think it WILL age well. As it discolours and gets a layer of dirt, the brightness will fade and it'll blend in with the old brick structures.

I was being sarcastic but I didn't consider that either. I also noticed that it does look a little nicer in person last week.

A patina, of sorts.

The more I go past it, the less I tend to think about it... at some point, "it just is" will be my opinion. But I think it will age a whole lot better when it's eventually obscured from the east by buildings at the corner of Main and Ottawa, and from the west by something at The Delta.
