Jesus, it's got everything. Also like art deco. I know what I'm visiting if I'm ever in the Twin Cities.
If you like art deco you should also visit the Ramsey County Courthouse in downtown St Paul if you are ever in the Twin Cities. It isn't much to look at on the outside but the interior is one of the most spectacular art deco spaces I've ever been in.
It was originally built to be a Sears catalogue showroom store and also their main warehouse and shipment hub for the northern plains and northwestern US. It was shut down in the early '90s and sat empty for a decade an a half. Now it is apartments, condos, offices and the home to Midtown Global Market which is an indoor public food/restaurant market with lots of little stalls. It has the worst DMV in the city. Other than that it is a cool place. The Midtown sign on top of the building used to say Sears in the same font. The business node next to it, which is the intersection of Lake and Chicago was one of the hardest hit stretches of Lake St and is almost completely destroyed. Hopefully it will be rebuilt.
