La Tuque, QC

La Tuque, located in the middle of the forest, on the road 155, halfway between Trois-Rivières and St-Jean lake...

The road to La Tuque is very beautiful, sometimes located in a narrow corridir between the river and the cliffs!

The bridge right after leaving Shawinigan

Let's go into the forest

PANO ----------------------->

Same thing but seen from the road -------------------------------->

Before entering La Tuque, a park with some falls

LA TUQUE, population 13000!

A dam at La Tuque

PANO -------------------------------->

What I had to climb to get that view!

Street level la Tuque

2 more photos of the road on the way back home

That's it, thanks for watching!

AX

Thanks for the photos, I've never seen many of the smaller towns beyond Montreal and Quebec City.

La Tuque looks pretty nice for a small town in the woods. It's nice to see some pictures from Quebec other than Montreal and an occasional Quebec City thread.

That's a cool little place. I'd never be able to live in a small quiet place like that, but it's awesome to see.

I think I would go crazy as well

What brought me there?

1- I wanted to see the dams up north, but never managed to find the road, which is not on the map... Now i'm forced to return there
2- I love to drive, wherever I go...

That's pretty much it...

Thanks!

Surprisingly okay town. Maybe if I, one day commit a felony, I'll go there to hide. Thanks, AXman.

It really reminds me of Springfield on the Simpsons. The way it's all lowrise with a perfect grid pattern, overlooked by steep green hills, the way the pulp and paper mill with its smokestacks looms over town like Springfield's nuclear power plant, and finally, the way the dam looks so similar to Springfield's.

Considering the topography, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Springfieldesque gorge around there too.
