The expected occupancy is still Spring 2010 so does anyone have a guess as to a starting date?
Have any of the units been sold?

Nothing on the website mentions the amount of suites that are sold.

I was just trying to get an estimate n a construction date assuming they had enough units sold ....

LOL...

No I meant what behind the orange fence. I seen some people digging there.

My theory is they could be testing the soil for contanaments since this is an auto repair shop before real construction starts.

I was back at this today and they have randomly built a wall on this site.

The wall looks to be an extension to the existing garage (there are two garage-door sized openings that align with the two garage doors already there). When I walked past today, it looked like they were in the process of installing some new, particularly heinous, vinyl siding.

Which begs the question of why they are extending the garage when the building is slated to be demolished for the Worklofts which are supposed to open next Spring.

I believe the answer to that question is sadly very clear.

I was by this a few times recently and the more I think of it the more I think they might be converting the building to a sales centre for this project. They've painted the building and built a new wall with windows instead of garge doors if memory serves.

Or at least I hope so

I would like to hope it is a sales centre. Two things give me pause though:
1. The sales centre is located in the middles of the site. Maybe construction has been delayed f this is the case? I don't know that locating a sales centre right where the hole for the building will be would be the first move of most developers.
2. I think the big openings look like they're filled with garage doors - I can see seams between each of the windows.

Here's hoping I'm wrong!

This isn't looking so great...

looks like this project is scraped. Hopefully it might be marketed in the future, but doubt until the economic climate improves. Shame, seriously nice project.

You could buy a 700 sf space for $30K too. Pretty good. Altho' I'm not sure of the benefits of owning your workspace as opposed to leasing. The website is still live and still saying Spring 2010... but obviously... if that were the case... they'd be well under way by now... with a big hole in the ground.

Anyway, this is interesting. I haven't heard any news about EHS getting a new ambulance base in the area. Their closest posting is Young and Robie, which isn't a garage, so maybe this is replacing that...

^Damn I knew someone would find that post ...

But it is sad to see this not go-ahead. It was a great project for the area and one of my favourites in the city.

on a side note, the new vinyl siding that has been added to the building adds a touch of class that the area was sorely missing....

Looks like the project is on hold, but I'm not sure the fact that some vinyl siding went up implies that this building is going to be around forever.

it's not just the vinyl siding that is a bad sign it's the usage as an ambulance station too, I doubt they would look for temporary space say for a year or so ...could be wrong ....hope I am.....
