What's going between Mercedes and State Farm? Georgia International Plaza has been blocked off and demolished in the last few days.

Just for reference here it is on April 22.

They're reworking Andrew Young International Blvd. adding additional pedestrian space as well as constructing a "transportation depot" to allow additional space for car/bus drop-off.

Mercedes-Benz will be known as Atlanta Stadium for 2026 World Cup

In a FIFA peculiarity, Mercedes-Benz Stadium won’t be referred to by its bought name during the 2026 World Cup. Instead, FIFA will refer to the $1.6-billion venue by a more generic moniker, Atlanta Stadium, according to a stadium spokesman.

Atlanta to host eight matches, including a semifinal, during World Cup 2026
