I had concerns regarding shadows as well but this could have been reworked with lower heights. This is nearly as embarrassing as the 145th St project.

Exactly. There could of been a better compromise. One fifth the amount of the original units is a massive nip in the bud for what the area needs and that's more units. But this is what happens when developers face such opposition that they decide to either cut and run or just skimp on bare margins. Just enough to move on and maybe pick another parcel and hope for better success.

Ownership of the property keeps bouncing around and the latest "plan" is for an as of right 6 story building. What a joke. Hopefully that is rethought or its just a bluff. A site this good cannot be squandered like that. That would be malpractice on both the city's and developers part.

New zoning for 970 will be 14 stories. The adjacent lot (the factory portion) will be 6 stories if there is any new development on it in the future.
