Ten Visions/Proposals I Badly Want to See Built

These are all rendered buildings in the database, so the links all lead to standard diagram comparisons. In no particular order...

1. Windy City Ultra Tower

2. Dubai City Tower

3. Houston Tower (only shows the massing, but still awesome)

4. Al Burj

5. Alternate Vision for Bank of America Center (NY)

6. Trump MegaStructure

7. World Centre for Vedic Learning

8. Chicago Spire

9. The Holozon

10. The Star of Chicago

Actually, I want to see most of the visions in the database come true - many of them are just balls-out awesome, and it's a crime they haven't been built. I'm very glad I found the visions/fantasies/stale proposals portion of the diagram database, because it's a treasure trove: These buildings are way more interesting than most of the ones that end up being built. I wish I could post the renderings here, but I don't feel like asking ten separate people for copyright permission.

Anyway, what vision/fantasy/inactive proposal /cancelled projects do you most wish to see built?

Cool thread, I had never even heard of most of the things you posted. I'd have to do some research on a top 10 list, but the SkyVoid for Lower Manhattan would probably be #1 on my list. Thanks to NYGuy for the thread and photos here on SSP, and I think this is an actual proposal, but has no funding etc.

I was thinking the same thing, I think it would be much better if the north side of the building was more of a straight line rather than bulging out like that.

haha... hey man, many of those building 'proposals' you posted are labeled fantasy. they are just drawings from fellow members... that is, not actual designs.

I always wanted for the Miglin-Beitler Skyneedle of Chicago to happen.

For London, it would be Richard Rodgers' plans for the South Bank:

Whatever. They look awesome. I wish I could draw on a computer good enough to show you some of my original building ideas.

Honestly, im glad this was never built, the building has way to many setbacks and it just wouldn't flow with the rest of the skyline today.

They could cut down the number of setbacks, and build that building where the Chicago Spire would have had been built. Or they could build a smaller variation of The Illinois by Frank Lloyd Wright there.
