Some people don't realize just how close Windsor and Detroit are. Our city halls are only 1 mile apart from each other, so photos will reflect that fact.

Excellent photo!!! The pic quality is excellent - considering the circumstances. It is too bad that the SPC Building's observation deck is closed though.

(This is the very corner where Louis Riel was hanged.)

Thanks for acknowledging that, some people don't realize.

I did not know that! Interesting.

Yeah, I'd like to go out there on the 13th floor and get a good photo, but the glass is always so dirty up there.

Yep, I know. Most people refer to cities by their metro populations.

No one considers Victoria a city of 75 000 people, they consider it a city of 370 000 people. Same for Vancouver, no one considers it a city of 600 000, it's a city of 2.5 million.

If you happen to work in the SPC building, I'm sure that access can be granted to the rooftop gallery. I was up there a long time ago, and the pexiglass barriers had about a 10-12 cm spacing between them. There, at least, would be enough space for a camera lens.

I would try to do so during summer though.

I believe I posted these shots of Lethbridge and the Oldman River a couple of years ago in another thread. My username was (is) Lenin, but I've had technical difficulties using that account and have received no assistance whatsoever, even though I have repeatedly tried to contact admins about the issue. Hint, hint. I would really appreciate it of somebody could throw me a bone and help me get my "Lenin" account useable again. It's silly that I had to create a second account. I digress. Enough bitching.

Here's Lethbridge, Alberta, a city of around 110,000 that kinda sucks, but would suck a lot more were it not for both a university and a college calling the area home. The Oldman River Valley, host to the High Level Bridge, separates West Lethbridge and the university from the residential / industrial North Lethbridge and South Lethbridge, which is where the college, hospital, and airport are located. The South Lethbridge area that borders both the North Side and the coulees facing the river valley is where the downtown core is located. Here's the Oldman River and downtown (which is neither decaying nor revitalizing itself, in frustratingly stagnant limbo). These were taken by my father from a helicopter in 2012:

Love downtown Halifax. It generally pulls off well the mixing of old and new. Thanks for sharing!!

Halifax looks terrific from street level. I haven't seen many photos like that - most of the time I seem to come across waterfront skyline shots or pictures from Citadel Hill.
