This part of King is going to feel odd once the towers get much taller than their neighbours. The blocks between Catharine and Hughson will feel doubly so if the next Connaught phase ever gets built.
I guess King West will be similar given all the change under way and proposed, but I wonder with the one-way street if it'll feel like I'll be entering an entirely different place than the one I know.
Agree, for my lifetime the north east quadrant of downtown has always been a giant parking lot and if it materializes, it will be the biggest transformation the city will have seen since Jackson Square. Excited to see this development rise.
I drove past here today and they are basically at the same point as the picture a few post back except on the 8th floor. Also coming down John St just after you clear the court house and can see the North tower growing over the King street buildings. This is definitely moving a lot quicker.

This one has entered the most exciting phase of construction! Looking forward to lots of photo updates during the spring and summer ahead.
Agreed! Shoring and laying the platform is slow and challenging work , when they finally arrive to the tower it feels like the building has noticeable changes every couple of days. This project is going to great for our skyline and the overall vibe of Gore park!

Agreed. When the historic buildings facing Gore park will be returned to renewed splendour and the completed Cobalt towers stand sentinel over the city's core public space, that area will look a bit like Rittenhouse Square in Philly. I think that is something to aspire to!
Starting to pop up over the buildings from Bay St.
