Having worked in some retirement homes, it always strikes me as sketchy to have a retirement home over 5 storeys. maybe it's different in the Ottawa homes, but there aren't a whole lot of people in these places who should be expected to evacuate 7+ flights of stairs during a fire.

I know this is dead but this retirement proposal is directly across the street from this old Tega proposal (a name we haven't heard in a loooong time).

Also this would be the tallest building Barrhaven. The tallest building is currently the 5 storey retirement home at Strandherd and Tartan.

This turned out to be a very nice project. There is a 'commons' style park in the square in front with a bunch of professional services at ground level (residences above) in the towns surrounding it. Not bad for a former farm field in Barrhaven.
