WestJet released their schedule until April 21st. Not a whole lot left at YOW:
YYZ 5x daily
YYC 4x weekly
YHZ 1x weekly

1x weekly to YHZ? Must be for DH4 aircraft rotation purposes.

Sunwing sent the two TUI planes they had in Ottawa back to the UK today, and I noticed they sent back the Travel Service planes they leased back to Prague as well. Right now the Transat plane that was in Ottawa from Travel Service is still parked here.

A bunch of the Sunwing-owned fleet is at Waterloo now as well. Read on a spotters page that Waterloo closed a runway for aircraft storage and that there should be 20 or so there by early this week. I think I saw 6 or 7 Sunwing 737's in the picture yesterday.

edited to add, just looked at that page now, and there are 13 Sunwing aircraft there now.

Yeah I noticed a WG flight with Newcastle, UK as the destination this morning.

Are they still working on the terminal reconfig? Could they use this time to get ahead on projects like that?

Well I can say that for my last flight on March 5th the project seemed to be progressing well. Gate 18 is back in use after being blocked off for several months...the irony is, it's not really needed now for at least the next two months.

From Lufthansa's booking system, it appears that the May 16 inaugural flight has been cancelled. Not sure when / if Lufthansa will commence service to Ottawa this year.

Did some dummy bookings and looks like it's been completely pulled.

This is what I mean about YOW can’t catch a break.

I doubt we’ll even get LHR back before Labour Day.

Which is unfortunately because Ottawa was just featured in their in flight magazine. Here is the PDF version, page 45.

In Flight Magazine

And their city guide: Located here

I noticed in the magazine it said flights would start in April. I guess that was perhaps a mistake.

I have no doubts they will eventually start this service once everything gets back to normal. (if that ever happens!)

Well AC have now cut to the bone. YOW has almost nothing left:
YUL: 3x DH4 & 1x DH3
YYZ: 7x E90

That’s it. Not even a daily YHZ.

I never thought I’d see the day where WS are serving more destinations nonstop out of YOW than AC.

EDIT: out of YOW, YYZ is 7x, while out of YYZ, YOW is 6x...so it might be even worse.

I also noticed two AC Rouge planes (319s), an AC 767, 321 (could have been a 320 it was obstructed) and the Trans Canadian Airlines 319 all parked at YOW.

DL have released their reductions for transborder and remarkably DL are maintaining YOW-DTW.

https://news.delta.com/coronavirus-u...lying-schedule

AA are still showing 1x daily to PHL, so it looks like transborder traffic in April will be more than zero...but probably no more than 2,000...would be about a 21% load factor for the month.

International though will probably be zero.

AC have again updated the schedule. This time the revision sees Rapidair increase to 8x E90.

Today’s departure count on the YOW FIDS: 14!

Sunday's departure count: 15...includes 1 UA flight as they're still flying to Canada until the end of the month.

Interestingly, my booking with LH in August still shows intact. We'll see what happens there.

Similarly, my flight in May was unchanged for a few days between the flight being pulled and my booking information being updated. Lots of uncertainty, but fingers crossed for you!

A bit of relief is on the way for the Airport Authority - the federal government is waiving the ground lease payments for March to December, 2020. Release. The Airport Authority paid approximately $11M to the federal government in 2018.
