do you live or work in an actual tall building? or live in a neighborhood of tall buildings? where, what? this is city relevant so dont sack this thread. ill start. live in a skyscraper no, work in one yes! where, the lloyd district. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lloyd_D...rtland,_Oregon
No and no, though I would really like to, especially in terms of work. Live on the 2nd floor of a walk-up and work on the 2nd floor of a concrete box, in the most boring corner of downtown possible .
No and no, but I worked on the 42nd floor of One Market Plaza for three years; then the office moved to the 40th floor of Four Embarcadero Center, where I worked for another four years.

I live on the 25th floor of a 36-story building, and work on the 3rd floor of a 13-story building, both in New Jersey. My desk used to be on the 9th floor, but it got moved.
I live on the 34th floor of The Spires condo in Houston. I work in a 2 story bldg.
However, I will be moving into an older house (by Houston standards) in 2 months after doing a complete renovation and am actually looking forward to having my feet back on the ground.
highrise condos are the one bright spot in portland real estate right now, you can live downtown in some pretty nice units for 200k. thats with a pool and underground parking garage. or, you can get a shitty fixer iupper in some way out ghetto neighborhood with some hillbilly neighbors, a metal cyclone fence. how bad do you want those chickens???

No and Yes, but sort of. Live in a shared 3 story house split into apartments. Work in a 32 story building, but on the 2nd floor, so not sure how much it counts.
The highest I have lived is 12 stories and worked is 22 stories. Despite my awesome view I didn't much like living in a highrise to be honest. Getting in and out of the building was a pain.
^^^watching jeffersons reruns as a young white kid in ruralish michigan complete ffff'd me up. i was convinced living in a deluxe apartment in the sky was the end all be all to domicle existance. i still do! on that note, just once id like to live in something really, really tall. tallest/most urban was a 6 story building on the portland park blocks. im still selling my cushy suburban raised girlfriend on the idea. doesn't some forumer live in marina city? thats my fffffn dream really.

Several years ago I visited an upper floor of the Spires. The view was great from up there.
Live on the 3rd floor of a 20 story building in DTLA. Many of my neighbors are 40+ story financial district office towers. Before moving to the new replacement hospital, we used to work in a historic/famous hospital built in 1933 that's 20 stories tall.
Just moved from a 13th floor apartment to a 15th floor apartment in a newer building a few blocks away. Definitely the highest I've ever lived, and pdxtex is right: DT Portland is surprisingly affordable for skyscraper living. I was surprised at how many fellow PSU students I've run across in my new building.
