Crane base is now installed. It's a grey one I don't immeditately recognize. Photo and more information is available via Tumblr;

Looks like a new one that Arnoldin’s had in their yard, it has Guay markings on it. It would be similar to the one currently up at Kings Wharf.

Dmajackson's been doing regular updates of this one: http://urbanhalifax.tumblr.com/tagged/2814Isleville

In the shot with Peak Audio you can see how much of an impact it has on the area. A building like that must double (or more) the population density on its block. I like the little wooden houses in this part of the North End, but with current household sizes they're not really enough for these neighbourhoods to be vibrant. Gottingen, Agricola, and Young in particular could become great neighbourhood commercial streets if population densities on the sidestreets are bumped up a bit.

Looks... dare I say... urban.

Clearly not human scale

The precast siding is not very attractive. It reminds me of Burnside office buildings.

Yeah, I walked past it yesterday and I'm trying to withhold final judgement until it's donee and the balconies, etc, are installed, but it's not great-looking. Shame sicnr the renderings were pretty decent.

Maybe it'll look better with some beige vinyl siding.

It does look a little like a really-big tilt-up, but let's see how it turns out. The window-frame treatment is interesting at least.

The pre-cast isn't filling my heart with love so far. Perhaps the masonry at the street and the balconies and metal elements can liven it up - the Gardenstone's (across the triangle park from the Hydrostone commercial strip) precast would not be very inspiring on its own either, but I think the whole building is excellent from an urban standpoint.

It looks like the window treatment is going be wrapped around the building between each floor;

I'm more hopeful for the precast after seeing this image... Looks pretty good.
