Wow..that is fugly. It's a Tempo invasion. It is Milton like monotony with a sprinkling of that suburban quebec vernacular..the tempo garage.
The earlier image of suburban Quebec City made my think garages (and actually used as garages to park a car not your junk) would help as long as the garages were recessed. Quebec City gets a lot of snow and it stays. I imagine those streets are narrower in the winter and having a car in the garage is always nice in the winter.
Flying in and out of Quebec City you can see how it gets pretty suburban pretty quickly with lots of pools. I gather lots of provincial government workers and young families with kids and pools.
