Excavation seems to be close to the half way point. IIRC, excavation was planned to be finished in May with vertical construction starting in June. It seems that they may be ahead of schedule.

There hasn't been much rain to slow them down and our weather has been pretty good/tame this winter with not much "winter" to it, so it's worked in their favor.

Make hay while the sun is shining. Could be a nasty May.

It appears they are still digging in sand. How deep will the pilings need to go to just reach bedrock? Does anyone know how deep the bedrock is on this site? And How deep will the pilings reach all together? Just curious.

It looks like they are starting to hit ground water. That is likely at the interface of alluvial soils and limestone bedrock. Given the height of the building, I would expect caissons would still need to be socketed fairly deeply, unless they are doing a mat slab.

It does look pretty wet and wild down there, but oh my is 6X going to make the rest of our buildings seem stumpy in comparison. The block is massive.

^^^Outstanding. Thanks for doing that. Imagine the Republic, Indeed & Tower 5C added to that...let alone all the stuff happening in the Rainey District.

Yes, ditto. I'm so thrilled to see the tall cluster more towards the center of downtown and away from the lake. The skyline will have 4 or more distinct clusters when the dust settles giving us a very unique well deserved, impressive skyline. Rainey and the 6X cluster will be the most impressive imo.

VERY impressive! Could you capture a few shots from the north? One I'd be interested in is from the 35 upper decks approaching downtown near UT. Distant shots should really capture the height of 6x and others.

Yep love it. Great work.

I tellya, give the skyscraper fanatics a well done rendering and watch us all squeee with delight. Now if you can add the next seven or ten OTHER buildings we’ve been tracking, that’d be pretty awesome too.

Sad to say, a good renderist’s job is never done....

My intention is to gradually model more of these as additional drawings become available. 6X was easy because there are floor plans out there for leasing purposes- the others I'll have to rely on renderings for now. I think once I develop BBVA further, I'll move on to the others in this vicinity... Keep in mind Google Earth is kind of a crapshoot and a lot of existing buildings aren't shown in 3D so I'll try to get around to adding those too
