I usually try to hold my tongue about renderings so as not to become one of the multitude of people saying "You know...I didn't like the rendering, but the building in real life is awesome!" (If we all had a dollar for...well nevermind.)
Anyhow...that being said, I will say that I am cautiously nervous about the yellowish color of the cladding. I do hope that it is one of those things that looks better in real life.
Overall - it looks like a solid development, despite that silly little house that will be stuck to it.
I've mentioned the questionable color of the cladding in previous posts as well. That being said, I notice that the new renderings have a lot less yellow and a lot more glass than previous ones. I think this is a definite improvement. On the whole I like this project a lot. This is good solid density for that area and it does a terrific job with street level urban presence. I'm even okay with the fact that the one little row home will remain. The cladding on that row home is pretty bad right now, but I have no doubt that that home will get fully renovated in the not too distant future. Having more buildings with smaller footprints is great for the street level and I think this will work well for the urban experience on Chestnut Street.
The towering new high rise, next to an old townhome looks really cool to me and helps break it up without being cheesy (read: current high rise developments that include town homes).
