This is a great looking building. I hope that the architect will do some more buildings in the Halifax area.

The north elevation's not too bad but the yellow cladding looks horrible.

This place might just qualify for the brightest building in Halifax;

Just like the last one, the fence is down and the landscaping is coming together. Lots of bike racks. No SUV racks.
Photos by me.

The utility poles are about ready to be removed, all the services have been reinstated underground. Should make the front look even better.

The primary "tenants" on both sides of this have moved in, although the building is still not completely full. There is some interesting politics behind some of the decisions of the tenants on the Dal research side, but than is another story.

Regardless, office and lab space is now occupied and in use.

I wish I had my camera this morning!

I was at the grand opening of the LSRI, and there is a view looking down the central atrium from the west end of the building where the windows at the east end basically frame the Trillium and has the crane for it and the one for the All Saints project all lined up in the same shot. Sweet looking view.

Cool :-)

Yeah I actually really like those banners. Thought they looked pretty good, and I can well imagine that the view must have been pretty cool from up there!!!

Overall it was certainly a good turn out, and the politics of that whole situation are rather entertaining at the best of times. It was all I could do not to laugh a few times at some of the background politics that was implicit in some of the podium comments etc.

My plan is to never let Dal take another picture of me again... makes me laugh that the picture that they used of me for the slides was from back when I was still in my 20s. I will apparently never age as long as I refuse to let them take another photo! LOL
