You're paying for the glass, the "eye of God" -- Leica. Here is a more reasonable model for you: the M9, which clocks in at half the price: http://en.leica-camera.com/photography/m_system/m9/

Strange day for my Flickr account today. Out of nowhere, within the last few hours I've more than doubled my view count for a single day.
However, with well over 100 views today (which may be a modest number for you guys, I don't know), only two comments, one being my own.

^ You know, my flickr views have shot waaayyy above normal in the last week or so. I have had 2 days with 1000+ views, and my normal daily average is in the 150-200 ballpark. Comments are about the same as always. Referrals are all from within flickr.

Sometimes certain photos just show up higher in searches due to "interestingness". Sometimes people will "stumble" it or otherwise post it on other sites, that is your work, and also remember those views also include Photostream, profile, etc. not just images (unless you're talking specific about that). I was getting 100-200 views a day consecutively for a few days and then out of no where I got something like 800 views in one day, partially because I uploaded a lot and partially because a bunch of my photos came up high in search, and one photo was stumbled which gained 200 views.

Yeah, I'm talking total views, but most of them are individual photos. Over 70 photos were viewed today, and the most for one picture was 5.

Sometimes someone doing a search will stumble onto one photo or set, and they'll know other people who share their interest. They email two or three, who each email some others, and it can really spread.

In 2006 on my web site I posted photos from Johnstown, PA. Apparently there's a very large community of Johnstown expatriates who still love their hometown and have fond memories and keep in touch, but never see photos anywhere. About two weeks after I posted the thread, my page views took off. They stayed above 200 for a couple of weeks, and the highest day was 1,400 views. I received a couple of dozen emails, many thanking me and sharing memories, and some offering additional commentary on some of the scenes. Only one bitched at me; "How could you not photograph such-and-such neighborhood?"

It was a one-time thing; nothing like it happened on my site before or since.

I'm usually hovering around 20 views in total for photos per day on flickr. I get pretty much nothing for comments and favorites (I think there's been about a dozen activity entries in the last half year). The current highest totals for me all time for comments is 5 (1 photo) and favorites is 2 (3 photos).

I doubt I'll ever have anything make it to Explore.

So far my most interesting has 5 views, 2 faves, 2 comments. My most viewed has 15 views. The most comments I have on one is 4.
I noticed some people tag the shit out of their pictures, and toss them into about 50 groups, whereas I only put a few tags on, and I think the most groups any of my pictures are in is 3.

I'm game. I've had my account since September 2007 (772 days). I have none on Explore and that will probably always be like that. I am social networking challenged.

Code:

Some other statistics

I've got very few photos in groups and my most viewed photo is because it was linked (not by me) into a woodworking site. Someone wanted to know how to make one of these.

Okay...

I've been around since last December ('08). Until August, people could only view (unless hosted elsewhere, like SSP) my 200 recent then I got pro.

Today so far
I've had 213 views, 14 comments, 2 favorites. My most viewed photo so far today has 21 views.

Overall
Total views (everything): 40,162
Photos all time: 29,450
Photostream: 9,609

Most viewed photo at: 283 views
Most favorited at: 19 favorites
Most commented at: 37 comments

Total # of Photographs: 1,476

Number of photos on Explore: 31 (most of which I don't think are explore worthy, then others I think do, dont get on)

Compared to what I've seen across Flickr, I wouldn't call these numbers extravagant. I'm still amazed at a few of my contacts that will manage to get 100-200 comments/photo REGULARLY.

I'm only a half-mod. I can only do stuff in the general photography subforum, but that's it. It was bequethed to me for running the photocontests.
