Yeah most definitely bring your telephoto lens when you go. My basic 50mm lens did not do the incredible views any justice.

The hike took a buddy and I six hours return from the ferry terminal. If you go make sure you bring a map because the trail markers can be a bit sporadic and sketchy at times.

Many years ago I would do the whole Pride Parade and take a thousand pictures but these days I just go by the starting point (Thurlow Street) and then to where it ends and the post-parade rally at Sunset Beach.

You know you are allowed to re-enter Vancouver proper whenever you like? I've been walking around the entire length of the Stanley Park seawall (then across Denman to get back) every week.

Nowadays one needs a tourist visa as well to carry his passport when crossing the Great Wall of Boundary to the Kingdom of Vancouver, ruled by the wise and just King Robertson. His fort at Cambie and Broadway is where the infamous bicycle throne is located, rumoured to be mended from one thousand bicycles that the king has acquired from the annual VPD auction.

I believe it is easier to cross the deep moat rom North Shore, guarded by the empty towers of Coal Harbour. It's a complicated process for us suburban peasants and many times we just have to enjoy our simple rural life without the joys of this faraway land the locals bards sing about.

David Lam Park in the hearth of the Kingdom.

Last night I got few free tickets to go see UFC Fight Night on Rogers Arena. I have never been to an UFC fight and it was an interesting experience. Here are few cell phone shots from the event.

The Oktagon

A preliminary card in progress.

Chick fight between VanZant and Rawlings.

The main card between Damien Maia and Carlos Condit only lasted 1:16 minutes.

All in all, and interesting experience and a good show.

Almost the entire Downtown peningsula as seen from The Mark's sun-penthouse during a downpour. What a dense Downtown with many architectural layers we have!

That's supposed to be art? Looks like something daily on East Hastings Street to me...

Okay, here's an art installation I like. It's by the Shangri La tower on Georgia Street. These light plastic cones are weighted down by floating balls. It was sort of interesting when I took this pic a few days ago but it was still. When I went by today on the bus it was full of action as it was blown about in the wind. All the cones would suddenly flop over in one direction and then pop back up and fall over in a new direction. I think that corner catches the different gusts of wind that make it very kinetic. If you're downtown on a blustery day I recommend going by to have a look.

Photo taken by me from Choklit Park on Friday. The skyline actually looks really tall from this angle. It definitely helps remind me I'm in a big city, which can be hard to remember when our tallest building is the 29th tallest in Canada
