Four Seasons

Was speaking with my broker earlier and she told me over HALF of the condos in the Four Seasons are already sold. Insane, and great news to hear the demand is there for extremely expensive condos. Could bode well for future development

yeah if you bought in early you already have some good appreciation since they have raised prices a few times.

NOLA.com has a summary piece on the development happening along Canal Street right now.

Canal Street was downtrodden for decades; look at what's driving its revitalization:

Ugh to that netting. Looks terrible, but it is what it is at this point.

Great article about the STR developments on Canal St. If there is one spot where everyone agrees that short term rentals can be developed, it's the upper floors of the buildings on Canal St.

Yeah the STR developments are great news.

I'm suspicious about the long-term viability of the business model, but even if Airbnb and VRBO implode, those units will immediately be turned into traditional apartments now that the hard work has been done to renovate and bring them up to code. Either way, Canal St wins out.

It's a very weird feeling for me to praise Motwani's work, though...

I remember a couple of years back somebody posting a drawing of what the whole area around the Plaza Tower was going to look like had plans come to fruition
This was an old drawing that showed all types of Modern skyscrapers in the area with some of them a lot taller than the plaza. I'm wondering if somebody can help me find that. I've searched the thread but no luck.

I’m pretty sure the Superdome roof will get an entirely new paint job before the naming rights sponsor & before Saints season begins, pending a break in the rainfall. We need to dry out. We have a few nationally televised Saints games this year. We can’t have the roof looking this bad. It’s been over 8 years since the roof has been painted. The roof looks absolutely horrible right now. The last power washing didn’t last very long. And speaking of roofs, after this $450 million dollar renovation, the next upgrade needs to be replacing the hundreds of missing ceiling tiles on the inside roof, or a completely NEW roof. I had a friend in town three years ago from Wisconsin. We went to a Saints game. He thought the inside roof had NEVER been repaired after Katrina. That’s what people think when they look up. The inside roof looks terrible.

Totally agree. It is insane that they're not replacing it with the renovations. The missing tiles looks so bad!
