So are the page 1 renderings the real deal, or are we still waiting to see?

Yep. They're doing it this way because of the museum next door. Don't want to risk waking up any of the mummies, or turning them into dust!

You may have seen this before, but here's a DP article about the extensive precautions being taken during the current demolition and future construction next door:

Sensors help protect Penn Museum artifacts during Penn Tower demolition

^more modern and sterile. The original rendering on page 1 was organic. Cost savings? Less large glass panels, especially at the lobby...

Maybe cost savings because they added more floors?

If it is a change, I liked the original design much better.

The shape of the bldg is pretty much the same. Can't believe the $1.5 billion price tag only gets this design. This should be a trophy building in Penn's medical campus.

It's a hospital, the 1.5 billion is more about what's going inside the building than the architecture. I do agree though that this is lackluster regardless of the price tag.

I agree. It stinks. It retains the shape of the original rendering, but that's it. I wouldn't want my name on it at this point, if I were m'Lord the Architect.
