Wow, I hadn't noticed that
HossC! Thank you (on this Thanksgiving Day) for pointing that out!

The above photo is a screen shot from the new film Rules Don't Apply, which opened yesterday. It shows a car driving west down Hollywood Blvd. in 1958. (The movie takes place roughly from 1958 - 1964.) The car in the photo is in the film quite a lot. We can see a few locations spotlighted on NLA before. What kind of special effect do you think this is? Inserted car into actual footage, or recreated in a computer or what? I can't really tell myself.
There are some scenes shot on location at various places in Hollywood, including:
Northmere Apartments
1840 N Berendo St., Los Feliz Los Angeles, Ca
Musso & Frank Grill
6667 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, Los Angeles, Ca
RKO Studios (former)
locations on Gower street, I am assuming
Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows
9641 Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills, Ca
The Apple Pan
10801 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, Ca
Arrowhead Springs
(a 69-room resort complete with hot springs and pool, set in the foothills of the San Bernardino National Forest)
24918 Arrowhead Springs Rd, San Bernardino, Ca
YWCA Hollywood Studio Club
1215 Lodi Place, Hollywood, CA
Also are some airport locations and the Biltmore Hotel. There's also some restored location footage of Hollywood Blvd. and Sunset and Vine as well as an aerial over Hollywood.

As I was about to post this I came across an L.A. Weekly article titled:
Your Ultimate Guide to L.A. Locations in Warren Beatty's Rules Don't Apply
It has some further details of what I mentioned above as well as info about some other locations like Griffith Park, a house in the Hollywood Hills, some churches, the airport locations and Long Beach Harbor. Also,
some
locations that got away.
