When: the first, third and fourth Saturdays of the month May – October
Where: Ferguson Station, International Village (11-4), Christ’s Church Cathedral (10-3), St Paul’s, Westdale (10-3)

Special Kick off Market Saturday April 18th
Christ’s Church Cathedral
252 James Street North, Hamilton
10 – 3 with an announcement from the Trillium Foundation at 11:00 am

In the summer of 2007, four Makers’ Markets were held in Bishopsgate at the historic Christ’s Church Cathedral on James Street North in downtown Hamilton. These outdoor markets offered the community the opportunity to support local farmers, artists and artisans. Due to the success of the summer markets, the committee was encouraged to hold a Christmas market inside the Cathedral and a holiday shopping tradition was born. By the second year, the Makers’ Market had expanded to a second site, the International Village BIA; between the 2 locations 11 markets were held and again there was an indoor Christmas market.

This summer we are proud to announce that we have grown again and are offering 3 locations with a total of 18 markets for the season, the third location being St Paul’s Anglican Church, King Street, Westdale. Word is out that these markets encourage local new artists, artisans and organic growers by offering an affordable venue in which to establish clientele and get to know each other. The market lends a positive energy to the neighborhood, including live music, and becomes a fun place to meet old friends or make new ones.

In addition to organic produce, you will find unique vintage items and original art, handmade stationery, jewellery, toys, clothing and accessories, bath and beauty products and more! At the Cathedral, tours of the architecture and stained glass and a history of the building are available.

Buying local means you are supporting artists, designers and growers right in your community and investing in your local economy. The Makers’ Market in the communities of James North, the International Village and Westdale is helping to improve the image of our city as a creative, cultural and diverse centre.

We would appreciate it if you could please include our dates and information in any of your calendar or event listings.
