BTW O-tac, I went to NE Calgary on street-view and found the legendary uni-driveways!

Ugh. Good Lord.

Food is supposed to have some colour. This looks worse than British food of yore.

I agree. The pearl clutching by people who voluntarily visit this thread is hilarious. You’d think we were forcing them to be here. Perhaps we could shorten Rim Whoreton’s to Rimmy Ho’s to be less offensive.

. I love how they literally come here just to get pissed off and than comment that they are angry at us for pissing them off. BTW, Rim Whoreton's dumb rebrand with the hockey stick door handles and the restroom insignia's decked out in plaid is soul-sucking.

Perhaps it was designed by these two:

Tim Hortons has no clue.

They try upscale with lattes and shit of that like. It fails.

They try overtly appealing to the Canadiana, hoping for that nostalgia factor. It too, will fail.

Why not just have decent coffee, donuts made on-site and an acceptable breakfast/lunch? Is that so much to ask? It seemed like the strategy before.

And this being the soul-sucking Canada thread, that's my contribution.

Lebreton Flats is also soul-sucking and we had a great chance to resolve that but our friend above did his thing and set us back another decade at least.
Melnyk makes Chretien look like a supermodel. As ugly on the outside as he is on the inside. What a douche.

Edit: Googling him it says his residence is Barbados. Of course! Just like our Murray Edwards living in London UK and complaining about municipal taxes.

I love how in that photo it looks like he has eaten 50 lemons! Perhaps he had the coffee at Rim Whoretons before that photo was taken!

Good Lord! I think that’s a new one you discovered! The joke of it is that even when homeowners keep the strips between driveways unpaved it has almost the same appearance as there is so little space for greenery between all the cement. I’ve seen newer areas where they put gravel instead of grass and it looks as bad.

I consider those wretched ones with gravel as a unidriveway's distant cousin. It's just as bad as a unidriveway! No greenery in sight...

Totally agree. I used to be a tim horton's fan back when they (a) used an apostrophe, (2) made the donuts on site (and actually had donuts: there are times when I have been in a tim's and they had maybe 3 kinds, and always the shitty ones like old fashioned with icing, something with blue sprinkles, and some overpriced garbage like a Whoopie-pie with Nutella donut), (3) had dining counters, (4) had the bread bowl with chili, (4) had really good coffee, and (5) lacked the horrible menu bloat of extremely bad food options.

Buffalo wing flavoured latte has to be one of the grossest things I’ve ever seen. I’m not even sure the 4x4 wide, 4x4 pickup truck driving, cammo wearing Joe 6pack would enjoy such a drink.

So the presentation isn't Cora's but... it's an egg. From a chicken. Fried. What colour are yours when you make them?
I mean... this isn't a breakfast I'd pay $20 for but... it's a lot better than a sausage-mcmuffin...
I at least recognize everything. I wouldn't want or expect much beyond this at that kind of place, though...

But they have hockey sticks door handles now! It's your patriotic duty to go and spend your money there.

I used to be a customer every now and then when on the road, but nowadays I really just avoid Tim's (there are better options - even McDonald's is!)

It's almost like they're trying on purpose to have the shittiest quality and take all the wrong corporate decisions... Even their ads are absolutely unappealing. If they were a single company (instead of being part of a larger conglomerate of other brands that may or may not be doing well, I have no idea) I'd totally be shorting their stock now.

All of these places need to "get back in their corners" and do what they did well (ok, pretty good). For Timmy's, that means coffee and donuts. Not lasagna and poutine. McDonalds needs to get out of their horrible donuts and breakfast wraps. Etc.

It's a race to the bottom to see who can do everything horribly.
