Rockefeller Group, Selig Enterprises joint venture on 40 West 12th

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...Pos=6#cxrecs_s

Quote:
Rockefeller Group has formed a joint venture with Selig Enterprises on the Atlanta real estate company’s new 64-unit Midtown luxury condo tower 40 West 12th.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The announcement comes as the tower is scheduled to top out on the 19th floor in early August. First move-ins are expected in the third quarter, 2021.

Rockefeller Group is a brand name in real estate development known for having the original vision for Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan. The more than 90-year-old company, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Estates Co., Ltd., has one of the largest development pipelines in its history.

Residences at the new tower will range from $800,000 to $2.2 million and feature 24-hour concierge service, an all-season resort style pool and outdoor pool and bar. Engel & Völkers Atlanta is overseeing sales.

Is it safe to say the top of the crane is about the final height of the building?

Hard to tell from that angle. I think they’ll have to raise the crane again. Looks like they’ll have 6+ floors above the current level of the apartments crane based off the angle from the camera:

To me it looks slightly over half way to its final height so I think it will be quite a bit taller than the current height of the crane.

Can't recall such descrepencies regarding a building's official height in this city. I guess we'll only really know once it reaches the top of the paraphet.

In some cities, you know how tall a building will be down to the quarter inch before it breaks ground. In Atlanta, it seems you just get what you get.

Well the good news is you can now see 1105 WP from the East side. And 1105 is going to look TALL, likely blocking out Atlantic Station and Icon. Drone shots over there are going to look spectacular in a few months.

That was my very first thought when I saw this picture. There's no park space on that side of Midtown and there's probably no other use for that land, other than for contractor offices like now.

It'll be hard either way to see the office tower driving down the connector since One Atlantic is directly north of it and The Icon basically acts as a huge wall blocking anything that isn't at least 100 feet taller.

The office tower will get some shine looking from the east, south, or southwest though.
