I had never heard of UER, so I just checked it out. You have some interesting photos on this thread: http://www.uer.ca/forum_showthread.a...threadid=42392 .

Halifax has a lot of great military history that is crumbling. I hope that something can be done to preserve it.

It's interesting that the development that, to me, looks like it will have the biggest impact on the waterfront skyline in 20 years is in fact a renovation!

I agree with people that this looks like it is going to be an amazing finished product. Good on Emera for getting this done!

This will look fantastic, especially when viewed from the ferries at night. I reposted a rendering taken from the NS Power website ( http://www.nspower.ca/en/home/commun...n/default.aspx ) for comparison with the photos above. It appears from the rendering that the glass will be framed by white composite panel. I am looking forward to seeing the building completely clad in glass and panel.

This will have a very interesting interior also. There are several pictures of the interior work at this NS Power link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nspower...7620725371398/

I'm looking forward to seeing this when I come back to visit in August - I'm so glad they did something with this site. It's going to be a wonderful addition; but I'm sad they cancelled the Halifax Shuttle Bus.

This would've been a great reason to have it (so staff could use it to get from other routes that drop off at Scotia Square).

Oh yeah... this is huge on so many levels.

The landscaping will make the area seem connected... and with the Seaport coming together, I think this part of the waterfront will be the most attractive.

Its a two birds with one stone situation... we got rid of the ugliest structure on the waterfront and now have a super modern looking building in that area!!

Lol and the funniest part is that NSP says they aren't in the development business when this is clearly a major development that will benefit the company going forward.

They should develop or sell the lot at Lower Water and Morris

Looking good from a distance. If we ever see Salter and Alexander, the southern waterfront will be incredible.

Something else coming along is the redevelopment of the Cunard lot along the waterfront, between NSP and Bishop's Landing. The WDCL has budgeted money for planning for the site this year.

I'm not sure what scale of project they'd plan for, but one interesting feature of the lot is that it's outside of the viewplane (just south of it, like the Maritime Centre and Alexander). Long ago there was a suggestion of 12 storey twin towers for that site, which could be nice. The key is simply to have a long stretch of fully developed mixed-use waterfront with completed boardwalk.

HRM By Design has this land with a 39m pre bonus height and a 49m post bonus. So that could probably mean about 14 residential stories maybe?

Another truck of window panels onsite today. I would expect more glass installs in the coming days.

Thanks for the update. I have been checking the NS Power site webcam to see if more glass had been installed - and wondered what the delay was.

No delay. This week they were installing the glass that will cover part of the atrium axis that will run through the building. It fills the gap visible in the last pic in between the two parts of the building.

From this afternoon. Cladding has now started on the water side of the building.
