Huh. I was worried about the elevated section on René Levesque but I thought that was right downtown, not on a section of stroad adjacent. It's almost like they did themselves a disservice by making such nice looking renderings. If they'd made it look as shitty as it does, maybe nobody would have gotten confused.

Lincoln Fields Station, from Daniel Innes on Twitter,

https://twitter.com/InfraManDan/stat...CzhaXKr40qAAAA

As the station where Lines 1 and 3 split, it will become a major rail/rail and bus/rail transfer. The station will have three tracks and two platforms, a bus loop, washrooms and retail.

Again from from Daniel Innes on Twitter, progress along the eastern extension to Orleans.

And along Trillium from Rail Fans Snapshot updates:

South Keys, the transfer station between the airport line and main Trillium Line, along with the S/E Transitway.

Bayview (transfer between Line 1/3 and Line 2), Gladstone (infill station with significant TOD, including affordable housing coming down the pipeline), Dow's Lake (significant TOD+new Civic Hospital) and Carleton (Ottawa's second largest University and busiest Trillium station for the past 20+ years) from Pat on Rail Fans Discord:

With Calgary's Green line going underground N/S thru the downtown core, will they be building in an underground pre-station at the junction point for a future E/W LRT underground thru the core?

City of Ottawa politicians holding an event near Jeanne d'Arc Station claiming this is the start of rail installation in the east even though it's been happening for months. Wasting the time of the construction workers, the media, and our very own Reece Martin.

Nice to see Ottawa getting more rail transit. Not a huge fan of the tram/metro hybrid but it still cool they are getting something.

I hope we eventually get something here in WPG.

You guys have the transitway system. I'm guessing when it is busy enough, there will be real talks of replacing it with an LRT.

The N-S Green Line will have an underground station at 7th Ave. When the E-W Red Line eventually goes underground it will run below 8th Ave. I’m sure the plan is to connect the stations but I’m not sure what is involved for that as part of Green Line construction.
I know that doesn’t answer your question but it avoids it.

^it's quite remarkable how under the radar this rather city changing expansion is.

Part of that might be the challenges of the Phase 1. Things that come to my mine about Ottawa's new LRT is:
the problems running in snow,
The sinkhole at Rideau Centre,
The derailments over lack of maintenance,
Etc.

At no time do I think of how transformative it is and will be, unless I look at what they are doing and where it goes.

At this point it is clear they should have picked the same technology as Vancouver Expor and Millenium line but some low floor tram sales rep was just extremely skilled. Now it is to late late. Ottawa will just have to learn how to make due.

Add that to the list we hear about instead of how good the line(s) are and will be.

RM is carefully documenting the event. The political leadership are all bent over almost ready to tip over watching the poor guy put the rail in place.
