Just visited Shanghai for the first time this week. The city is amazing and this tower is a giant. It makes Jin Mao look tiny in comparison.

It was especially cool seeing Pudong at night. All the buildings lit up brightly and this one sort of looming over all of them. As if they didnt know about the giant that was about to crush them.

Why does the bottom page says:

They might as well put the page links there instead of this stupid message hiding the page links!

Best supertall of the past 20 years. One of the most awesome buildings ever. Not just because of height, but because of aesthetics and quality. Leaves the Burj behind.

God, I love this building! (sorry if I'm acting religious by saying God, but that's how I was brought up! Good God!)

The crown hasn't reached its full height, so no it hasn't topped out.

The crown is part of the structure. The only thing that topped out last year was the core. It has not reached 2,073' yet.

I guess it depends on how you view it, there was an official 'top off' ceremony last year.

Like I said, that ceremony was for the topping out of the core. It has not reached its final height yet.

There is a one hour long program on Discovery about the construction of this tower right now!

I know we all keep going on and on about how amazing this building is, but... this has got to be the most graceful building on the planet, and it's not even finished yet.

And it may be shorter then the Burj but it might as well be unofficially the worlds tallest building since 50% of the Burj is just a spire .
