Couldn't find a more appropriate thread for this, but thought it might be of interest in the Ottawa forum - about National Defence Medical Centre, which at least adjoins the Hospital Link. Originally posted in the Great Canadian Hospital Thread:

Our Walter Reed? Well, was our Walter Reed? I thought they moved to Montfort in the early 2010s, not 2017. Is this mostly abandoned now, only used sporadically during the pandemic? Seems this would have been a good spot for additional capacity during Covid instead of building a temporary hospital at the Civic.

Clinic services started moving to Montfort in 2009 but there was still some like dental and mental health offered at NDMC until 2017.
Don't think it could have been readily used for inpatient care. It hasn't been set up for that in decades. Ward beds, oxygen supply and piping, etc have been removed or not maintained. Most of the ward rooms were converted to offices (which meant a big downgrade for most when we moved to Carling Campus cubicles; where you once had a huge room with your own washroom, you're now in cubicle farm).
The military's COVID clinic was set up in the old dental area, which was the last clinical unit to leave and the one still equipped and most amenable to patient care. The rest of the patient care areas were abandoned:
