I don't think any city *needs* supertalls, but talking about it they would be a net additional or detraction from our skyline I think is an interesting discussion.
IMO In cities like New York, the new supertalls are taking away from the cohesive skyline rather than adding to it IMO.
That being said I think strategically placed supertalls in our skyline would absolutely be a net positive addition so long as they were of quality architecture which isn't a given.
