It always saddens me to see old churches demolitioned. I like the architecture and I think it's part of our Canadian/Scottish history. But i'm glad to hear the congregation found a solution that works for them.

Me as well. I'm not religious at all, but I too appreciate them for their architecture, stonework, presence...

As the congregations have dwindled for many churches, it gets harder to afford upkeep and periodic fixes. So many of them are in the century+ age club too, so some need major rehab they haven't had in decades.

It must be a tough decision for them to sell and consolidate with another church, or seek a deal that involves knocking down the old but includes alternate arrangements to host the congregation, like this one did.

Lots of them have a verticality about them that looks very silly as soon as there’s anything taller nearby. (Thinking of one or two in central Toronto specifically.)

A few more windows have been installed at the top. With all the drywall that has been going in, it seems like they're focused on interior mostly right now, while a few windows (including the broken one on the second floor) remain to be installed.

I'm looking forward to this being closer to finished since it's been a mess at this intersection forever now!

The glass wall up the corner has reached the very top as of a couple days ago, but here's a picture from last week from the Queen St condos:

And from a balcony at 150 Main W

That massive concrete podium looks horrendous from the east. Can't wait for them to paint it at least. :/

Just heard that occupancy for this building is now planned for March.

You know, I dont hate it. Not the best scale for the intersection, but I suppose in time it'll fit in better.

By Hamilton standards it's good, by others, meh. Which is pretty much everything Coletara seems to be proposing.

One thing it will do a great job at is generating additional pedestrian traffic in the area.

Ya this one looked awful as it was going up, but now that the exterior is mostly complete it doesn't look so bad. By summer, when the paint is finished and the rest of the glass has been installed it will actually look pretty good. Glad this one turned out well.

I'm mostly excited about the hundreds of new residents it will bring to the city to support those businesses along King.

From the corner it doesn't look that bad. From the backside...

I come down Beckett Dr. onto Queen quite often. It looms very large. That view will change as other things are built around Queen and King/Main, but this is a hulk from the south angle.

The podium is especially ugly from the southeast view. Hoping it looks a bit better when painted black.

Lobby glass is in place, and asphalt is near entrance. I'm assuming they want people to start moving in this month (sorry for finger)
