Allot of these buildings I'm talking about are fairly tall (200+ meters) so there's not a huge advantage to building taller. this is especially true when you consider all the extra hoops they need to jump through to build taller.
on a side note, Tokyo sky tree is now under construction at 610 meters. Its a tower and not a building but still fairly tall.
