^ We'll find out with Perla on 4th and Broadway, which has a fair number of micro-units around that same square footage. Not all, but has a decent amount.

I really hope the construction was not halted.
Doesn't appear that there are any workers this morning on the site, either.

Excellent find from @Urbannizer in the other thread.

We now have renderings and a name for the Continuum project in the Arts District.

Yes, it is very strange that they would stop midway through construction like that.

I think the diagonal strips are unnecessary, but overall it would be a welcomed addition. The Historic Core and Arts District (if the proposed projects are built) are where the quality’s at.

The houses where this development is going to be are currently being torn down. The renewal of city west continues! It's great seeing progress slowly creep west of downtown.

Yea, that corner has seen a lot of turn-over from businesses. Aside from the grocery stores you mentioned, there was the little market/convenience store next to the Nopal Press. Owner said the homeless/drugs was an issue. Can't confirm if that was the ultimate reason they closed. Also, Two Bits was a nice addition down the street on 5th and Spring. There were two convenience stores off 5th and 6th; both on Spring.

Was honestly surprised to see the 7-Eleven on 5th and Broadway go. Never liked to go there. My go-to market for after 6 pm snack and energy drink runs was Mission Market at the Spring Arcade building...but they closed maybe 2-3 weeks ago.

I live in the area and I would love a 24-hour spot to buy groceries. I can only dream...

I hate when they take artistic license and render these beautiful stone sidewalks and tree lined streets knowing they have nothing to do with the project. Just gives everyone false expectations.

Trump tariffs against imported steel. End of the cycle may be coming faster than expected.

Meh, this is more of a Chicken Little-esque response. If developers/contractors aren't willing to buy US-produced steel or imported steel at a higher price, then there really wasn't that much trust to begin with. If the market outlook warrants the investment, it might hurt their margins, but they'll still build.

Might hurt their margins, but they’ll still build? If it hurts their margins to the point where the return requirements aren’t met, no, they won’t build. Odd comment. There is no increase in revenue to offset this arbitrary cost increase.

Do we think AEG will ever redevelop lots 1 and 2 (see image) at LA Live into something denser and taller?

I hope that lot 1 as you identify eventually becomes an extension of the convention center with hotel on top. I can see them leaving lot 2 as it is, for a long while.
