^Looks kinda like something Gaudi would have done if he had become a modernist.

It seems like the municipal government wants to chop it off a bit (50-60m is a supertall here as you know), but it seems like it is going ahead.

New 35W bridge is also pretty weak, but a replacement was needed ASAP, the design could have been better.

Predock's McNamara building at UM is a very strong work, I didn't have good light to photograph it.

ugh... are you serious? just 'cause, how about that?

if you're referring to the bauhaus specifically, well, that documentary can summarize my opinions of the building one thousand times better and more efficiently than i could ever try to get across on an internet forum.

^ Yeah, I agree that the blob isn't their best effort. It is a kind of pleasure dome, really - Xanadu - but the blob has already been done to death.

Nonetheless, I find it exciting that a Chinese firm is doing work of this scale & refinement.

I think the original in german/french was called Baukunst, which (I think) means "building art" or "the art of building". Here's the list of episodes & buildings:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0853066/episodes

Seemed a bit Eurocentric at first, but if they didn't draw the line somewhere the series would never end, there could be 100 dvds! Looks like a good series, if that Bauhaus episode is anything to go by.

sorry, but i can't find the english version of this on the youtube. but, if you can speak german, then you're in luck! also, the video is good to watch even if you can't understand it because it has a great visual walkthrough of the building.

THIS ONE THE GREATEST AMERICAN BUILDINGS.
IT IS ONE OF THE BUILDINGS THAT GOT ME INTO ARCHITECTURE.
NO PICTURE NOR VIDEO NOR DESCRIPTION COULD EVER BEGIN TO DESCRIBE HOW AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL AND POWERFUL THIS BUILDING IS IN PERSON.
