It seems like the municipal government wants to chop it off a bit (50-60m is a supertall here as you know), but it seems like it is going ahead.

if you're referring to the bauhaus specifically, well, that documentary can summarize my opinions of the building one thousand times better and more efficiently than i could ever try to get across on an internet forum.

^ Yeah, I agree that the blob isn't their best effort. It is a kind of pleasure dome, really - Xanadu - but the blob has already been done to death.

Nonetheless, I find it exciting that a Chinese firm is doing work of this scale & refinement.

I think the original in german/french was called Baukunst, which (I think) means "building art" or "the art of building". Here's the list of episodes & buildings:

Seemed a bit Eurocentric at first, but if they didn't draw the line somewhere the series would never end, there could be 100 dvds! Looks like a good series, if that Bauhaus episode is anything to go by.

rad, thanks for the info man. i'd never seen the originals before, i only know them as facets architectures. and i also have a 5th dvd. is the 5th one also part of the baukunst series? and btw, they have some nice american projects showcased in the set too.
