There's a new crane being erected in the neighbourhood again. I'm not positive but based on relative position I'd say its the lot next to the school.

I saw that when crossing the bridge today. Looks taller than all of the others that have gone up in that area before.

I think its only six stories but it placement up higher on the hill might make it look taller. I have some photos I'll upload probably later today.

There's also going to be a crane up in the coming weeks for 630 Larry Uteck (just past the playing field).

It will be a ten storey building - 8 storey of residential units and 2 storey of parking - total of 128 units

I saw the crane from the McDonald bridge today and I have to say, hill or no hill, that crane is definately for more than a 6 story building. 10 stories sounds about right.

Yah I just looked at my photo from the weekend and it is defenitely larger than its neighbours so 8 storeys (plus 2 parking above ground for now) makes sense.

Skyline photo from the weekend. The crane on the right is for Gardens Luxury II, and towards the left three projects are visible (Unknown I on right, Birchview on left, and crane for Unknown II);

Referring to the red crane base. Will that be 12 or 13 for crane count?

- Birchview is now completed and appears to be occupied.
- Garden Luxury I is completed (not occupied though)
- Gardens Luxury II is about half way done its exterior (2nd floor of 4)
- The CRANE went up for 630 Larry Uteck today. It makes the 12th in HRM and 3rd in the neighbourhood.

It should be visible from the highway. I haven't gone out that way because the nice brand-new interchange teases me when I see the jerseys in place still ... At least the locals will be very used to the roundabouts ... That area is popular for neighbourhood drives.

Pharmasave opens in Bedford South

Bedford South has a new pharmacy.

Bedford Pharmasave at The Ravines, 535 Larry Uteck Blvd., has been open since Sept. 7, although it officially opened last week.

It’s located in The Ravines Professional Centre, which will also house a new medical centre with a family practice and walk-in clinic scheduled to open in late October.

If you’ve started a new business or organization in Halifax Regional Municipality, let us know via email, subject line What’s New, at community@herald.ca or send us a fax, attention Community Herald, at 426-1158.

Here's the current look of construction in Bedford South/West. The original photo is from www.theparksofwestbedford.ca;

Red = Proposed
Yellow = Approved
Green = Under Construction
No Line (not boxed in) = completed or not proposed yet.

*Note: There should not be a yellow line between 630 Larry Uteck and the Sportsfield (green line only).

There is suppose to be an "unveiling" of this area scheduled for Tuesday, so if all went well with final turnover on the weekend this area should be open to the public.

Won't be much of an unveiling, half of Bedford has walked or driven through the area in the last few months.
