∆∆∆∆.. That's a fantastic shot. I've waited over 25 years to see our downtown transform to this. It's going to only get better and better.

I think it's safe to say that people are marvelling about the photo background, and not the foreground, or at least I pray that's the case because another soulless cut/paste papier mache stick frame apartment building is absolutely nothing to rave about.

Stick frame crappartments are better than surface parking lots though, the photo does a good job of hiding them.

Disagree. That is one of the better low-rise and not everything needs to be 50 storeys.

I am not sure the height is the issue as much the cheap exterior finishing is.

Bingo. Nowhere did I mention height, so I don't know where the dismissive comment wrapped in height came from. That said, it's the melt-in-your-mouth longevity of these frame projects that sticks in my craw.

Those practically-temporary balconies and their poor supports will be sloping sooner than you know it. It's the ham-fisted cheapness that goes into the large majority of frame projects that turns me off. And wow are Edmonton's suburbs rife with shockingly poor frame product built during the last boom. [I've always wondered what the purchaser demographic was for that product.]

Nicely done! We are hoping to encourage a lot more of that around the Downtown this year.

I wish The Bay was still in the Jasper Ave building, and we could be amazed by the window displays. Christmas is when I really miss the downtown department stores more so.

Bingo. HUGE crowds, but amazed at how many people (see above) had no idea it was on.
