LOL, thanks Huey...

WWGFD, I have a Nikon D90, and D40, though I use the D40 very seldom these days. I have pre-ordered a D800, but don't have it yet, should arrive any day. I also have a bunch of different lenses. You can see a list here if you are really curious:

Okay, it's too easy even to ask. Note the Esso on the northeast corner of jasper/116, the MadMenesque girls in the Biscayne, the Pall Mall Billboard, the people hanging off of the building, and the huge crowd! Someone told me that the parade stretched all the way up Jasper Avenue

^ this is actually really interesting. Note the sign that says, "I used to be a used car salesman, until Nader came along." That is in reference to Ralph Nader who ran for president of the US in the 1992 New Hampshire Democratic primary, again in 1996, 2000,, 2004, and 2008. The reference in the sign is to a book he wrote in 1965 intitled "Unsafe at Any Speed" a critique of the safety record of American automobile manufacturers in general, and in particular, the Chevrolet Corvair

A few of us managed a photoshoot from atop of the Crowne Plaza, (Chateau Lacombe). It was a great view. It gave Darren a chance to try out his brand spankin' new D800. I'm sure he'll be posting shots soon.

And also interesting is that the vacant lot on the NE side of Jasper/116 St, which was most recently a Happy Mart gas station, was also formerly an Esso station. How many years until that plot can be developed? Great pictures. I love Edmonton of the '60s as far as the vibrancy of the central core is concerned.
