Incredibly boring. At least 432 Park is trying to be something.

It needs a little extra something besides height, that will make it stand out and that people will remember. It's an incredibly visible tower, and yet, somewhat indistinctive.

Fair enough but I think 432 was just trying to be a boring box and ...voila! Mission accomplished.

To each their own but I think it's just interesting enough, without overdoing it. The facade is going to look great but yea there could be an extra something up top.

As viewed from the Times Square District.

Note that 220 CPS is almost a super tall, almost... and it looks tiny in comparison. Its a 953 foot tower, hard to believe.

This is a version of the tower that will always be my favorite version. Even Barnett seemed to enjoy it.

It was the initial version filed with the DOB, Waaaaay back...

2. As we saw then, it was still 1,550 ft...

That version of the tower was followed up with what is basically the current version of the tower, with one noticeable exception...

Now that the formwork has surpassed the final setback, looks like we have about 100' to go. SO TALL.

That spire would put this at 1797'.
Sadly, there is little hope for it to be built now. It's just what this building needs, not so much a height standpoint but from a architectural standpoint. Dissapointing.

...That being said, the spantenna (i.e. imposter spire) on WTC-1 needs to be put out of its misery and dethroned by a legitimate spire.

God, this desperately needs a spire. Don't let us down, Gary.

Maybe they're pulling a Chrysler and have been hiding the spire on the inside

^ I feel like you all do. Would have been nice if they'd surprised us with a spire. But looking at the plans of the current version with that version, it may or may not have cut into the penthouse space.
I don't know. Gary doesn't want it. I'm not going to get my hopes up for it. I just think it's important to at least see those plans for it, because this building will be judged architecturally,
questions will be asked. It should be known it wasn't meant to be that way. Same thing with the spire of the Freedom Tower. People should be aware it wasn't designed to be as is.

The Empire State and CPT are about a mile apart, but viewed from the Brooklyn Bridge, they're almost neighbors.

I never realized that the spire "buttress" was a continuation of that beveled corner running up the entire building... makes it even worse that we're not getting it

Imo the more I look at it the more out of place the spire appears. I feel like because the tower is already off center from its base, the spire being on the corner makes the whole thing look even more lopsided to me. Could just be stark isometric angle that makes it look off
