The State of Liberty and Ellis Island are part of the same national monument, spread across two islands and two state in New York Harbor. One served as the beacon of hope to generations of immigrants as they came to America, and the other one is the place where they were poked, prodded, and inspected in order to enter America. This national monument should definitely be a must-see for every American at least once in their life.
Just a quick sidenote for reference - the pictures at the beginning and end of the set were taken in the beautiful Liberty State Park in Jersey City, where the New Jersey statute ferries depart from.
