thx for posting. I saw this crane while watching the Vanier Cup on TV yesterday. Actually made Hamilton feel like a more legit city with that crane there. Didn't know one was erected for this project.
Will be so nice to fill in the gap between Cannon-King. And that water pond/skating rink next to the Rec Centre is going to be fantastic. Should see things like that happen all around the city in projects like this.

Not a fan of the brick work / precast. Looks very drab. Should have used a glossy black rather than matte.

This high school is gonna have the best football field, gonna make all the other schools jealous lol. Seriously though since this school doesn't have any field for athletics I hope they have a special arrangement with the stadium for usage!?

I always thought HWDSB would use the same white brick used on the community centre which looks pretty nice, but they went with concrete blocks and it's incredibly drab. Combined with the super dark black tinted windows, the new school isn't that much more inviting than sir john a.

It's a very depressing look. The majority of the Catholic secondary schools are inviting, bright and look much more modern. Clearly, one board is doing something right to welcome students into a proper learning institution.

Shocking ugly and drab. Our prison looks better.

Same on the board!

I’m not sure about the board... the catholic board notoriously did not complete proper environmental remediation at both cathedral and st Mary’s schools when they were constructed, so in the long run I’d argue that might be worse than ugly buildings.

I'm usually at the games, but I watched the Stamps @ Ticats on TV the other evening. There were no closeups of the school, but that end was on camera a lot, particularly when the TSN panel was on screen. It looked good to have some buildings there again.

Unrelated, TSN showed some great aerials of the city a few times: over west harbour looking southeast, and from just above the escarpment over downtown looking down on the lower city. Nice to see them showing more of Hamilton than just the steel mills for a change!
