My sentiments exactly.... It was for seven short years, THE tallest non-monument building in the world. Not to mention, it is STILL the tallest masonary(again non-monumental) building in the world.

The links don't seem to work anymore and Philadelphia City Hall definitely should be on the early lists.

Alot of the buildings that you posted for 2012 are not even going to get built.
Such as: Tall Tower , Shanghai Center , Russia Tower , City Tower Parque Anhembi, and AC Towers
and i think City Tower Parque Anhembi, and AC Towers are just visions to begin with.

Wrong. Russia Tower and Shanghai Center are going to be built. Tall Tower and AC Towers are likely to be built.

City Tower is the only one who won't be built for a long time. If even built.

That there are developers who have thought about building a structure of the scale and have money to fund it. They also have architects and researchers that spend dozens of hours to make the project possible. I also said that it's likely to be built not that it will.

Even if Tall Tower isn't built there's still the Shanghai Center and the Russia Tower. Russia Tower is already in ground work and Shanghai Center is already approved. Anyways Austin, nice list. You should edit the links though and maybe add some renderings/pictures.

EDIT: Even if Shanghai Center, Russia Tower and Chicago Spire are completed they wouldn't make the list of tallest structures since the Burj Dubai is almost topped out which unless it's not finished, it will be taller than any other man made structure on earth before anything else. The last record breaker according to the height regulations was the Taipei 101 and by the looks of it, the BD will be the next one.

i have to say that not only did architecture degrade as time passed but it is amazing to see the shift from US dominance to asia and the middle east.
