Certainly would be a great fit for Tesla HQs if they decide to move to Austin.

Looks like a big ol' fat blob. Wish this would go higher than 670'

Generally speaking we seem to be getting towers with a lot more style lately -- which was one of our community complaints back in the '300 ft plateau era. We're seeing a lot more diversity in shape and style than we were only a few years ago. This one will be a HUGE divergence from what you might call the 6X school of design.

I think another 100' on this tower would give it better proportions and give it a more slim and sleek look.

I don't know about this one y'all. how is this building not going to be atrocious...seriously. find one modern building like this that look anywhere near "okay" 5 years after being put in.

If this is built this will be a massive black eye

One Manhattan West is basically a taller version of this, and it's probably my favorite building in New York

I agree with Echostatic. I think the renderings are too smooth to do the building justice. Here is a picture of One Manhattan West under construction. On Tower 5C, the glass won't look liquidy like it does in the rendering, it'll look more like this picture.

It’s just massing dudes. Those aren’t “renderings.”

I haven’t even posted those.

Such a cool tower! The variation in so many ways this would bring to our skyline--really hope to see this one break within the next year.

To sum things up based on what us skyscraper nerds know about this project:

There is a 670' version and a 657' version. The site plan in review only mentions the 657' version. So I'm going with 657'.

This is all office, and we all know know that the pandemic and WFH is seriously hurting financing for speculative office towers - assuming this is speculative.

Amidst the economic downfall, Ryan Cos. proactively stated in an ABJ article that they were planning to break ground in January 2021 and that they had an equity partner. That's positive, and Ryan Cos. is a developer that seems to have some in house financing capabilities.

Really think this next to 405 (hiding that blank wall) will be a great addition to downtown. I also hope that Mr Blume’s post here https://www.instagram.com/p/CDpo409lxEw/ turns out to be lighting ideas because that would make this really shine.

I may have missed it...Did they submit two site plans? How was the 670' height obtained if the site plan says 657'?

Does anyone have Mr. Blume's number for confirmation?

EDIT: Maybe they adjusted the angle of the crown?!? That could be why it has been decreased by only 13' and the floor count remained the same...

I have a long standing crush on Dallas' Bank of America Plaza with its blue glass and (now) colored LEDs. If Mr. Blume's sketches there are really suggesting vertical lighting on the tower and also hopefully around the crown, then that would be fantastic. There seems to be a new trend of lighting the vertical walls of buildings now that LEDs are a thing instead of just lighting the crowns or setbacks.
