KANSAS CITY: Three Light - FT - 30 Floors

The official proposal was filed on the KCEDC website. It reveals new renderings of Three Light. The proposal is to go before the board on March 28th. This comes after numerous debates on the original agreement and the city's obligation to pay for the parking garage. The agreement passed last night also allows Cordish to build 100 affordable apartment units into the Midland office Building. Construction should begin by the end of this year and wrap up in 2021/2022

Here is another rendering that is crummy but shows an aerial view of Downtown KC with Four Light in the background. NOTE the angled roof of Three Light.

With misgivings, KC Council approves tax breaks for Three Light

*June 21st, 2018

Quote:
The Kansas City Council approved tax incentives Thursday for developers of the planned Three Light apartment building, but not without continued debate over the city's role in subsidizing luxury highrises downtown while the supply of affordable housing remains scarce.

The measure, which passed by an 8-to-4 vote, gives Cordish Companies, developer of the Power & Light District, a 100 percent property tax abatement for 25 years on the 300-unit building, scheduled for construction beginning in early 2019.

KANSAS CITY: 3 Light | 332FT | 32 Floors

Update on this project.

New renderings dropped today. The height and the floor count of the building are included in the title of this post.

A start time frame is set for the Summer.

Quote:
The long-awaited Three Light luxury apartment tower is set to begin construction by early summer at the high-profile corner of 15th and Main with completion anticipated in Fall 2023.

The Cordish Co., which won city approval in 2018 for the incentive package for the $150 million project, has submitted its final drawings to City Hall and has hired J.E. Dunn Construction to build the 32-story tower.

Monthly rents at the 321-unit project are expected to push new heights as well, ranging from $1,400 for a studio up to $7,000 for a penthouse club apartment.
