Dominican Colonial Hotel takes 1st place among 300 worldwide affiliates

Puerto Plata.- The ‘Casa Colonial’ hotel was ranked in first place by New York residents who in 2006 preferred it from among 300 other boutique-type establishments affiliated to the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
VH Hotels & Resorts vice-president Roberto Casoni disclosed that Colonial surpassed such hotels as Saint James in Paris, Art by Piazza di Spagna in Rome and the Grand Hotel & Thalasso Spa in Saint Jean de Luz, France.
New Yorkers chose the Casa Colonial Beach & Spa as favorite, by way of survey conducted by the New York Post.
Casoni recalled before reporters assisting to the press conference that, in 2005, Casa Colonial was included among the Hot List published by the Conde Nast Traveler, as one of the best new hotels worldwide.
At the press conference, Casoni announced the opening of the hotel’s restaurant Veranda, soon to operate during evening hours, offering a selection of the best Mediterranean dishes.
